About Micah Shull

AI Decision Systems Architect

I design AI Decision Systems that connect business evidence, economics, risk, confidence, governance, and decision logic to explicit management action.

My work focuses on a problem that becomes more important as organizations move from experimenting with AI to operating it at scale:

AI can produce more intelligence than an organization knows how to govern, evaluate, or act on.

Decision Systems AI is my work on that decision layer.

From AI Orchestration to Decision Architecture

Over more than a year, I have built and tested a broad range of AI agents, orchestrators, workflows, and decision systems.

That work gradually shifted from asking:

What can AI automate?

to a harder question:

What should the organization actually do with the intelligence AI produces?

The result is a rules-first approach to Decision Architecture designed around measurable business outcomes, evidence quality, operating economics, risk, confidence, governance, and explicit decision logic.

Inspect the Engineering

The engineering behind this work is public.

My Decision Systems AI GitHub repository documents the broader development path behind the current architecture, including AI orchestration, workflow design, testing, reusable utilities, decision systems, governance, economics, evidence, and rules-first decision control.

Current Focus

My current work centers on AI Decision Systems that help leadership determine:

  • Where AI is creating value
  • Which results deserve confidence
  • Where costs or risks are accumulating
  • What should scale, continue measuring, redesign, govern, route cheaper, pause, or stop
  • Where capital should increase, remain, move, or be withdrawn
  • What AI should be allowed to recommend or execute

The current operating implementation is an AI Investment Decision System, built as a specialization of the broader Decision Architecture work.

Reusable Decision Architecture. Organization-specific decision logic.

How I Think About AI Systems

I am less interested in AI that merely generates more output than in AI systems that improve the quality, speed, and accountability of important decisions.

That means separating:

  • strong metrics from strong evidence
  • high ROI from readiness to scale
  • AI capability from AI authority
  • model cost from total workflow cost
  • usage from business value
  • intelligence from decision rights

For consequential decisions, I prefer systems with defined inputs, controlled vocabularies, explicit business rules, traceable calculations, repeatable logic, and clear management outputs.

Probabilistic intelligence. Deterministic decision control.

Background

My background spans data science, finance, AI orchestration, and decision-system design.

I have spent roughly a decade working in data science and the last several years building and testing AI agents, workflows, orchestration systems, and decision architectures.

I also have a long-standing background as a visual artist. That work is separate from Decision Systems AI, but it has shaped how I think about structure, judgment, ambiguity, iteration, and the difference between producing an answer and making a decision.

What I Am Building Toward

The broader goal is to help organizations create a governed decision layer between enterprise intelligence and business action.

As AI systems become more capable, the central question is not only whether they can produce useful analysis or recommendations.

It is whether the organization has a reliable way to determine:

What action is justified, at what level of confidence, under what constraints?

That is the problem Decision Systems AI is designed to address.
